M.I.N.D Games... Are you up to it?

Certainly hope so. =)
Did something unusual today.
Took a jog around the track, watching the setting sun.
It was a beautiful sight.
Wished I had a camera to capture the people running, the birds flying and the people getting off work.
Maybe just maybe I'll try photography if I am ever out of job.
With beads of perspiration dripping down my forehead.
I feel good.
I feel free.

When I see the kids sprint during their training.
I learn something today.
Running is all in the mind.
It builds up one's mental.
It trains endurance and perserverance.
It makes one stronger mentally.
This is what makes some edge over others.
It is all in the mind.
Are you up to it?

Silly I know.. but it is me...

Watched rumour has it today.
Silly the show but I was touched.
Touched by the onscreen existence of true love.
True love knows no boundary.
It exceeds all expectations.
It conquers all impossible.
It makes life worth living.
And one thing is true.
There is no such thing as I can't live without you.
I can, just that I don't want to.
When love's concern, when is enough enough?
It is never.

Purpose driven life...

What on earth am I here for?
Some things I learnt during the sermon yesterday.
Some things I knew but forgotten.

We were planned for God's pleasure - GOD made us to love us.
How consoling this is when we know how hard it is to love the unlovable, but God loves us all the same. If not, more.

We were formed for God's family - We are to love one another, friends and enemies alike.

We were created to become like Christ - not God but Godly.

We were shaped for serving God - we grow from our weaknesses, not our strengths.
Trials and tribulations are meant to mould us, not destroy us.
Everyone of us has a different emotional heartbeat.
We are meant for different things.

We were made for a mission - a mission to bring others to God.

All these far outweigh the things we hold dear to,
when all we need is to hold HIS HAND.

A new place called TOAST...

Surprise such a place existed in some isolated corner of Taka. Costly stuff they got there but they sure have the best wraps I've ever eaten, considering how much I dislike them. =)
Here you go, enjoy =p

Meaning to be freed, released.
Been trap in my own cell for too long.
Refusing to admit and constantly in denial.
As I breathe in the warm air, radiated by the scorching sun's rays,
I feel this sense of liberation.
Yup, liberation is the word.
Liberated from my own world.
From the walls I painstakingly build.
From the world I set apart from the rest.
The place where I find comfort in solitude.
The place where peace meets my inner being.

Liberated to see what is beyond me.
To see life beyond the surface.
To go beyond feelings and emotions.
For a greater cause.
A greater purpose in life.

Choices...

We have many choices in life...
The choices we make may or may not determine anything.
Yet, it is due to these choices that determines how we live our lifes.
We can choose to be happy or sad.
We can choose to acknowledge or ignore.
We can choose what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
Choices are many.
Too many sometimes.

L.I.F.E

If one's life's like a bus journey, there are many stops with people constantly boarding and alighting.
Complexity of life begins when one is not sure of one's destination.
People board the bus blindly or intentionally, either by choice or not.
Some are meant to sit till the end of the road.
While others are as good as it lasted.
The memories linger, just as the seat's still warm.
But someday, with time, all will fade away.
Don't look back in anger.
Cause it was never meant to be this way.

What is L.O.V.E actually?

A perception?
A feeling?
A set of virtues?

As I was watching the students cracking their brains over their maths paper today, I was day dreaming. Thinking of things that i took for granted. Do I know what LOVE really is? Am I capable of loving someone or something? Do I LOVE?

Love is individualistic. There is no one definition of love that applies to all people. We perceive things differently, coz essentially we are different. Yet many times we have expectations for others on how they should love us, forgetting that LOVE can be expressed in many ways - from a little smile to a comforting hug to a sweet kiss of I LOVE YOU and even an uncalled for bickering session. Some just LOVE in more common ways. =)

Ultimately to me, it is these small acts that make up the meaning of LOVE. LOVE only exist when the other person matters enough for even a small, insignificant gesture on your part. That is when you can say that you have truely LOVE.

Have you LOVE today?

Simplicities...

Been in the rat race for too long... So much so that I forgot what are the simplicities in life, the small things that make me truely happy. I used to be more carefree, less worrisome, has less tendency to fret over small things. I used to be so many things, long forgotten. The me now is a product of the mindless rat race that I was in for the longest time to come, an irreversible race. Only the fittest will survive. Sigh. When I think back who I really was before all this began, it makes me wanna cry. It makes me wanna go back to basics. The me I used to be. Back to basics is all I need to find back the small things that once made me happy.

Your smile makes me happy,
It makes my heart jump a beat too quickly.
Your care overflowing,
It makes my existence worth living.
Your love everlasting,
It fills my whole being.
You brought me back to basics,
To the things that really matter.

Life is fragile.. Is life just like a sink?

Well was thinking about that student of mine whose dad passed away so suddenly. He had about 2 more years to live. How fragile life can be... Sigh.. Anyhow is it the small things that makes life worth living? My fren begged to differ.. It is the small things that choke up a sink - life's a sink? It's no wonder my fren is always sinking. Ha. Well come to think about it... It could be true... Everyday with the new experiences that come our way, it is just like the fresh, pure water that comes out from the tap. That's what a new day offers. Yet it is the big and not so small things that remain as residue in that sink of ours. But how big is the big thing? That really depends on how big are the pores of the filter of our sink. On better days, our filter pores become smaller and we start to appreciate the many small things that come our way. Yup, looks like I still believe that small things make life worth living. Big things too!

Dinner at Central...

Tried their nissan noodles and beef hor fun. Well a little sub-standard and the lime plum juice is too sour or salty for my comfort. Of which is worse I do not know. Anyhow the company was good.. E was there with me.. So had fun nonetheless. This place is a thin line between a cha chan ting and a new age tea cafe... Noisy like in Hong Kong but well never the same

Sun with Moon Japanese Dining & Cafe at Wheelock Place...

Enjoyed this sumptuous meal with my sis... We tried the katsu don set lunch, noodles in omettle, grilled mango with ice cream and tofu cheese cake for dessert. The ambience was good, peaceful. And the service was fab, though the one serving us was a jap, she was nice and polite... The food was fab and affordable too, costing about $40 plus for the 2 of us. And it leaves you satisfied and that is what matters...

Gelatissimo Vs Bravissimo...

Gelatissimo is this new ice cream place from Aust outside Lido... It offers authentic Italian Gelato. Tried their banana flavour today and yup it's not for me =) though I thought the little cones were kinda of cute and perhaps samples for testing but the staff ain't friendly so couldn't ask more... So I still prefer my Bravissimo which can be found in the basement of Paragon. Bravissimo is a family run business with the owners formerly running a busy ice cream stall in Aust. It offers GOLD label Italian ice cream which includes my D24 ice cream... Yup it is still my choice of gelato... Only when J is not around that is... *winks*

Sunday Brunch at Trader's...

JUst the other day I was at Trader's Hotel... Enjoying their Sunday Brunch. It's been a while since I've got the luxury of just sitting around, chatting, eating and it sure feels good. It was my birthday.. The last day of every Chinese New Year. Though no one remembers it, it is fine. There was a wide spread of food, from roast meat to sushi to laksa to bread and pastry to chocolate fondue.. It sure was a wide spread though not a really fine one. The food was common but the ambience was good, not the best but good enough to make you sit there for a whole 5 hours. Brunch was from 12- 5 and it cost about $38+++. Highly recommended for big groups with lotsa of catching up to do.

Well wee... should really get started on this fAnTastic idea my J has. A FooD Review BLOG!!! How appropriate it would be for a self-professed food lover - ME!!! Since I tremendously enjoy food, wine and company, why not share my wonderful, fab experiences with others
But first I will need to constantly remind myself to bring my IXUS whenever I am out coz I'll never know when and where I am going to indulge myself. If J sees this, he will definitely disapprove this with a shake of the head and a LOUD sigh. Well anyway, it was J who inspired me with this blog
